FOH fills funding gap for kindergarten reading software
Because of school district budget cuts, Hawthorne started the 2017-18 school year more than $1,000 shy of the funds needed for adaptive software that helps young learners become better readers.
Friends of Hawthorne PTA helped fill that gap. Now every kindergartner at Hawthorne access to iRead software, a tool for that helps all kiddos improve their reading skills — especially those whose first language is not English.
